Empowering Romantic Bridal Boudoir in Hawaii
WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO BOOK A BOUDOIR SESSION?
I had the idea to book a boudoir session to provide an album as a present to my fiance, for our wedding in October. But the more I thought about it, I really wanted to book it for ME. I feel like I'm in the best shape of my life, and also more importantly, in the best mental and emotional state I've ever been in. As I was starting to "shred for the wedding", I wanted to encapsulate for the future a moment in my life when I really FELT beautiful and cherished and loved and strong and powerful, and I couldn't think of a better medium with which to showcase this.
WERE YOU WORRIED ABOUT ANYTHING GOING INTO YOUR SESSION?
I was a little worried that I would be awkward, and definitely the most concerned about posing. I also was nervous that I wouldn't like how I looked in photos...nervous to really see myself for the first time under that lens! But Christine was a joy to work with, everything felt very natural and intimate, it was like hanging out with a really good friend and engaging in play. Lots of giggles, lots of belly laughs, lots of growth.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART?
I loved getting my makeup done, and then just experimenting with different angles and styles with Christine. It felt very organic, and a little bit cathartic.
WHERE YOU WERE IN YOU SELF LOVE JOURNEY WHEN BOOKING?
I made it a goal this year to try and shape and transform my physique, for the wedding, but I ended up going into a really self confident and strong mental space by doing this, and it's so much LESS about the physical. I hope you can see on my face how happy, content, accepting I feel, based on the photos alone. I felt very creative, and feel this is a true expression of self love. Every day is different for me in terms of how I feel about my body, I'm more body neutral at this point I hope, but looking at these photos is inspirational for me.
IF YOU COULD RECOMMEND A "LOVE HER SESSION" TO YOUR GIRLFRAN, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?
I would say go for it! If it scares you a little bit, that may be a good thing. Do something different, and tap into a part of yourself that you didn't know existed! :)
